Calling all Europeans - Be part of the solution
Hi EU Mozillians,
Did you know that sharing a meme technically isn't allowed in many parts of the EU?
Did you know it's illegal in some places to publicly share a picture of the Eiffel Tower light display at night?
Think that's absurd? So do we. It's time our laws caught up with our technology.
This year, Mozilla's Maker Party is part of a new campaign to reform copyright laws in the EU that are putting up real barriers to innovation and creativity on the web. We need you to help us change this by getting together with your friends, family and community to run a Maker Party activity!
If you're ready to go you can dive right in on the website here or sign up for additional support and to express an interest in mobilizing your community around Maker Party . We'll support you every step of the way with the resources and tools you'll need to make a difference.
We can start with online action - but to ensure our voices aren't ignored we need people to meet up face to face at Maker Parties to show that this issue - and protecting the open web - is something that we are concerned about and that we will take action on. By doing so, we can shift this debate and harness this once in a generation moment to make a real difference by enacting progressive, modern reform of copyright law in the EU.
Be part of the solution to change copyright: register your event or sign up today.
